**SRHR Youth Champions-Chitwan Application Call **

SRHR Youth Champions will be a group of 16 youth activists of diverse background and identities, who will advocate at the local level for improved sexual and reproductive health policies that support reproductive health, family planning services, comprehensive sexuality education and programs that support meaningful youth participation in Chitwan. Youth Champions will design a plan and execute within their local level on the concerning issues of SRHR and CSE. This will be a platform where the youth champions will be able to brainstorm for the plan of action, raise funds for the execution of the plan and then finally execute it in a practical setting. This will also be a platform where youth champions can learn about issues around CSE and SRHR, design and implement programs, build networks and capacitate themselves and become change makers in the community. The youth champions will serve as youth advocates, educators and spokespersons on the issues of adolescent sexual and reproductive health.

This call is open for young people residing in Chitwan district. Youth Champions will be trained under the RHRN Advocacy Academy which will help them lead local level advocacy programs in ward or municipal level. Through this program we are envisioning young people’s increased involvement in advocacy processes and holding government accountable for their SRHR needs and demands. Young people with disability, Sexual and gender minorities and young people from marginalized and vulnerable groups are highly encouraged to apply!

The objectives of the Youth Champions-Chitwan are:

• To bring together various youth activists under a single platform
• To strengthen advocacy for SRHR issues through formal and informal youth groups
• To maximize the advocacy efforts and spread messages through local media and technology.
• To brainstorm and plan projects of SRHR to run in Chitwan
• To raise funds to run projects of SRHR within Chitwan
• To utilize funds to execute projects within Chitwan
• To sensitize the public in the SRHR issues through peer information sharing and youth friendly activities.
• To continuously report YUWA with activities

Position description:

Position Title: Youth Champions

Duration: March-May

Based: Chitwan District

Stipend: Basic communication transportation and coordination support.

Engagement Specification:

1. Attend the 4-day training provided under RHRN Advocacy Academy
2. Create implementation plans or Plan of actions which focuses on local level advocacy process
3. Conduct said approved Plan of Action in a group
4. Conduct individual project for 3 months
5. Report on the completion of the activity planned.

Note: YUWA will be providing the basic stiped for the group as seed money to complete their PoA.

Eligibility:

• Young People between the ages of 18-26
• Completed SEE/SLC
• Should have an interest in social involvement regarding adolescent SRHR
• Be willing to commit at least 20 hours a month to Council Activities
• Be available to attend the Capacity Building Training after the Selection Process
