Job Description
We are looking for a SQL Developer for Microsoft SQL Server. The SQL Developer is responsible for creating, designing, developing and implementing database objects in a timely manner; engineer the end-to-end data vision and develop methods for translating the logical design into physical databases documenting how data will flow through the development stages; review description of changes to database design, understanding impact analysis of affected applications to ensure proper database access; complex report/data extraction requests making sure the impact on existing applications is adequately analyzed and evaluated.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience working in MS-SQL Server

• Strong knowledge and experience using Transact-SQL including writing complex queries for ad-hoc requests and data analysis

• Extensive experience with procedural SQL, stored procedures, triggers, views, and user defined scalar and table-valued functions.

• Ability to understand complex business processes and applications which read/write to various databases.

• Experience creating, scheduling, and maintaining SQL Jobs.

• Knowledge of query optimization, index management, integrity checks, statistics, and isolation levels.

• Proficient knowledge of data modeling concepts and formalized database design including creating tables, indexes, and enforcing data integrity.

• Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.

• Be organized, self-motivated, have the ability to work on a team or independently as required, and the desire to continually develop new skills and improve existing skills.

Responsibilities:

• Create, optimize and maintain complex T-SQL code (stored procedures, views, functions, triggers)
• Review database objects for data integrity, quality, security, recoverability, scalability, indexing strategies, and table design.
• Tune T-SQL queries and database performance by improving overall query execution plans, indexing strategies, table design.
• Review description of changes to database design, understanding impact analysis of affected applications to ensure proper database access.
• Handle common database procedures such as backup, restore, migration, etc.
• Create, maintain, and monitor daily or other automated SQL Jobs.
• Recommend new strategies and architecture to enhance efficiency of data systems
• Develop scripts, documentation, and specifications.
• Estimate development schedules and determine project scope.
• Provide production support and maintenance of code.
• Collaborate with other team members, application developers and stakeholders.
• Complete database code review and deployments.
